Broken Breaths

10/04/202307/04/2023 C and K WordsLeave a comment

All the words we never said
the many promises we couldn’t keep
All the hate and anguish
the desire for games and control
Now, between your broken breaths
you attempt to put the wrongs right
All the life you had left your shell
you lay in a bed that is not your own lifeless
With “I love you” on your blue lips

Pocketful of Promises

01/10/202229/09/2022 C and K WordsLeave a comment

A pocketful of promises,
given without proper thought.
All promises were now broken,
glowing sadly in the darkness.
Another love’s life touched;
Another hurt, grief-stricken heart.
