Haiku: The Old Tree

They kick an old tree,
then they stab the outer-bark;
sap tears start flowing.

Pure Green Tea power
Think of matcha gelato
sitting by the sea

They did not want us
to touch the trees and the leaves;
Forbidden feelings.

You wanted to wait
Standing within the grey clouds
You hate being late

my sweet darling pet
a fluffy cute butterball
meowing I’m spoilt

Memories of the
pot plant on the window sill.
Mum’s purple Orchids.

Favourite green dress
Worn until the cotton frayed
Another green dress

A glass heart breaking,
shards of brokenness scatter,
strewn mercilessly.

The new moon darkness,
starlight brightens the ink night,
floating in the pool.

Resolutions fade.
The trees are laughing at your
failed exercise plan.
