My Beluga

21/05/202525/09/2025 C and K WordsLeave a comment

Searching the Ocean
for the pearl Beluga Whale
my precious lady

We met in the depths
a little shocked look at first
she knew no Narwhal

Together we swam
named her princely unicorn
a touch of my tusk

Coming back to me
swimming straight towards her songs
we play together

Floating Away

19/04/202526/09/2025 C and K WordsLeave a comment

Floating across the world
lost in a travel daydream

Longing to touch the cold sea
to feel black sand on the shore

Standing outside of my old self
the freezing sea and the green

Losing myself to a life in the Alps
to feel the snow fall from a chalet

Floating away to any place

You: My Pebble

01/03/2025 C and K WordsLeave a comment

I looked for you
between the hearts and the shapes
of pebbles found discarded on the
colourful sea shore.

Would you be a smooth pebble,
a sharp and blunt pebble,
or a pebble never to be found?

I chose my favourite pebble,
and it was you.

Two + The Sea

26/11/2024 C and K WordsLeave a comment

o’er the grassy sand dunes,
we went tumbling towards the soft sea.

you and me together,
two carefree lovers looking for free.

rolling until we stop,
out of breath from laughing with the sea.

you and I are running,
never stopping until you can see.

standing on the Skerry,
looking towards you, the azure sea

I don’t want to be free,
I want you to be a part of me.

Lost Nature

14/11/202411/11/2024 C and K WordsLeave a comment

a virtual museum
the children watch humans from centuries ago

their attributes are
so different from anything the children understand

an uncontrolled sea
landscapes with rolling hills, trees, and sunlit animals

A natural freedom these children will never know

Micro Sea Poem

Have you ever seen the grass move like waves of the sea?

Even here, the sea is never far from you and me.

For Dad

07/11/202407/11/2024 C and K WordsLeave a comment

a hot wind blows
through my clothes to burn my skin
as I think of you

resting in a place so far from the sea
so that you could
be close to the son you loved so much

reduced to ash
I think of you resting without adventure
and I wonder

if I should have given you to the sea

First to Last

03/11/2024 C and K WordsLeave a comment

From the first word
sinking into deeper water

Forgetting the world
submerged in saltwater

Feeling the wilting
swimming for the shore

Finish the last word
sorrow with empty shells
