Wading Daydream

02/08/202327/09/2025 C and K WordsLeave a comment

Burning Summer heat
gems and jewels curl around your skin
A Poseidon kiss

Oblivious to reality
aqua sea, premonitions
A snake coils around your arms and hips

Something falls away
the past and the present meet
Your goblet drops, rolls

All the glory, love
you wanted to deny the sad truth
Love, a life no more

Snowflakes and Sunflowers

My Winter’s Heart.

You saw apricity within my soul,
or was it a silly projection?

Your Summer heart.

I felt your wild sunflowers
blooming on my skin.

We came together;
Winter and Summer collide.

You said the snowflakes are peaceful,
I said the sunflowers are kind.

Cool Against the Skin

A faint whisper
from a long summer.

A dark blanket
from a cold winter.

By the sea,

By the hills,

By both, we
feel cool
against
the skin.

Very Short Story: Naked

The full sunlight on a late Summer’s day warms the house.
There is a feeling of change, for the sun is setting earlier, and a cool breeze touches the lounge.
Chloe feels the breeze move along her naked skin as she relaxes on a Saturday afternoon with a coffee and a book.

Oppressively hot,
humidity in the south,
fan, cooling, and chill.

The Fly

24/02/202224/02/2022 C and K WordsLeave a comment

Thoughts of snow,
reprieve from the heat.

Chickens live next door,
often disguised as roosters.

Flies buzz determined;
evil beasts want tasty food.

A beast enters by magic,
the instant recognition of the fly swat.

Angry as a beast lands,
you wildly spank the chair.

Burning summer sun,
birds shit over the house, grass.
The flies laugh at me.

4 Haikus: Between Spring and Summer

01/02/202229/01/2022 C and K WordsLeave a comment

A breath of autumn.
Summer, Springtime, and Autumn;
Seasons in one day.

Gooseflesh on my skin
Beside my open window
Autumn in Summer

Pen to my paper
Writing words on many trees
Nature closing in

Perfume from outside
No flowers blooming in sight
A whiff of nature
