Poems for the Home is a collection of my rather more “interesting” poems. I am constantly inspired by the absurd and funny. After sitting on my lounge chair thinking about a concept I coined while watching shows, which I call “horizontal lounge-chair enthusiasm“, I started writing about kitchen utensils and saucepans.
Joy at seeing the inside of your soul.
Art Deco geometry surrounds my
construct, and I feel calm yet alive.
Bottles line your bookcase of liquor,
while your chic vibe warms my toes.
Oh, how I would love to caress the
beautiful bottles you bestow upon
such unworthy pions.
The underverse of my heart feels warm,
from you and the friendships cherished.
Stress and hatred long harboured,
set sail for unknown shores.
Fuck off feelings of self-loathing and despair,
for I let the rope fall into the water.
With each drink:
the weight of life slowly lifts
the room lights dim
interconnected feelings intensify
visions and sights distil in the air
and the candle glow abounds
laughter corrupts the innocence
wicked and beautiful ideas threaten their boundaries
and your soul, I will surely visit again.
