Winds of Change

The season changes
ice winds whistle loudly through
the power lines, trees
the sunlight plays a subtle
song through the dying flowers

Skylight Cat Nap

24/11/202317/08/2025 C and K WordsLeave a comment

the caress of a throw rug
your favourite chair by the fire
listening to the crackling

Undercover, yet exposed
vast skylight flooding the night
movements in the sky

Words Words Words

My respective words
the silhouette of my misshaped words
They sound disjoined

a laugheratic continuation of childhood
Ridiculed for being tall
a small person hidden within a giantess

My made-up words
just a case of laughter meeting low opera
Stare at me, my love

Come on, stare a little more!

Wondering & Waiting

21/11/202327/09/2025 C and K WordsLeave a comment

There’s an idiom about you;
you clutching at old words.

Wondering about you again;
again I make haste slowly.

Frightened by the night sky;
sky dreams telling me lies.

Waiting for your love again;
again you’ll choose to hide.

Golden-Haired Girl

20/11/202308/10/2023 C and K WordsLeave a comment

There was an ordinary day,
on that day, I met a beautiful willow tree
with eyes of many colours.

With her hand in another’s,
I looked upon that willow tree with doleful love
that could never come to be

A golden-haired willow tree,
haunting my memories with her beauty and grace;
a ghost of a love unfulfilled.

Summer’s Secret shrine

Freya

18/11/202308/10/2023 C and K WordsLeave a comment

The touch of snow,
courage where once there was a desire to be unseen.

Despite their warnings,
a desire stronger than the old trees takes hold.

Walking towards the trees,
whispering from the dark and the light of your being.

Something otherworldly,
a name forms upon your lips as you fall: “Freya”.

Metal Bars

17/11/202327/09/2025 C and K WordsLeave a comment

Ages of sorrow and happiness within
this ancient place of stone and metal.

Standing in a wistful frame of mind
as the feelings move through my heart.

Some metal bars are for protection,
while others imprison the body.

Some metal bars imprison our mind;
wisdom can be found in odd places.
