over half of the people live in silence
covered in cloth from the top to the bottom
hollow women unable to be human
THEY fear the sound of a woman’s voice
the silence is killing cultural traditions
No blue skies, education, and dreams
Crush under the will of the Taliban
Deafening silence holds the moment
as the absence of music rattles you.
Without warning, the music begins
as a jolt takes your senses away.
All around, you feel the vibrations
of melodious cascading sounds.
Keeping the silence
Silent controversial words
Hiding all my words
Cracks appear in the silence
Words begin to pour away
