Crying for your treats
no favour with the kitchen
The chef is busy
loud garrulous explosions
Entreat me with little treats

Salmon are rushing
a frenzie of paws and tails
The bear knows the taste
confused animosity
The salmon misses her paw

The turning began
summer left us on our own
Shedding no sad tears
as grey turns to silver snow
Melting slow on our faces

A lonely black swan
strict elegance and power
she comes back to life
Ballerina blurs in black
a human and a swan morph

A straight division
Once we had hugs and kisses
Now pillows divide
When did we put up the fence?
Lamenting what we once had

A Sleepless Night

Noisy Cockatoos
Vocalising their feelings
Feeling so frazzled
My mind is like a blue screen
The Cockatoo says reboot

Discarded

All the containers
we discard as we discard
the humans we love
Unloved, no longer useful
Sad and alone in landfill

on our adventure
travelling to distant lands
on the computer
dreaming of foreign cuisine
imagining seawater
