“I remember when we wagged PE. It seems not so long ago, right?“
“Yeah, but then you left in grade 10. Just like that, my friend’s gone.“
“I know. It was out of my control.“
Thinking how we reminisce about 25 years ago, like yesterday, “It’s great to see you.“
“You too.“
Raw emotion,
in a mess,
as the session
finale ends.
Why be like everyone,
when you can
be your interesting?
Lost in the echoes
of barren land without snow,
wishing to see you.
We stand around the bonfire,
listening to fire crackling wood,
as ash and embers touch the sand.
We think of magical tridents on fire,
as we think of Poseidon and the sea.
we move
close to
the margin;
our love is wild.
Limbs fold
into each other,
squeezing into
the train seat.
A sharp instinct
for the smell of
roses and figs.
awkwardly beckon
for her love to move
into the bushes
Crisp and cool,
cucumber love.
You’re brave venturing into the sunlight,
for it is not yet summer in your world.
Clumsily assembling the banana chair,
while neighbours take the whispering piss.
You look, sigh, and flash your bikini,
lounging in the 12-degree sunlight.
