Early darkness
a chill brings on the gooseflesh
endless music
jewels from you
overflowing books in the case
scrolling down
stopping short
help me to glue all of the memories
of me and you
before we forget
what it was like to live in freedom
with our ideas
and our love
I remember the way she moved
Blueberry stained lips
Warm fruit-flavoured skin
A flash of skin on high
Sitting authentically in the sun
Feeling things I could not fathom
Filling me with meadow hopes
Twinkling in the sun and the grey
I remember her on a carefree day
Between strands of my hair,
the image of an idyllic grey-green scene
A picture of you on the wall
the coming of rain, wind and crackling fire
Images flicker behind my eyes,
you are out there in the world without me
No protection from a calamity
you will be well, yet come home soon, love.
Grief came in the form of an apoplectic outburst.
The trees ceased to whisper, the animals hid from sight, and the clouds dared not share their secrets.
This drowning grieving anger, tearing the self asunder and hurting the only one in the mirror.
Damaging the covering, digging nails into soft skin and finally succumbing to the loss of love.
A flower in Spring
You exude a rare nectar
Me, a buzzing bee
Sipping upon your nectar
Napping amongst your petals
I was there,
there in that place,
I was there.
You took my hand,
in that place,
You took my hand.
We were one,
within philosophy,
We were one.
They used theology,
torn asunder,
They used theology.
This is what we were,
killed for love,
This is what we were
and what we remain.
I saw her when she was relatively young,
gloomy and sulking for the first few years.
I never thought twice about her and me,
the grumbles and gloom would pass away.
I saw her when she started to see me,
she had shallow roots and disliked the frost.
I never thought she would ask me to stay,
when she bloomed, she took my breath away.
your unforgettable fire
lashes my skin
until we burn so bright
There’s an idiom about you;
you clutching at old words.
Wondering about you again;
again I make haste slowly.
Frightened by the night sky;
sky dreams telling me lies.
Waiting for your love again;
again you’ll choose to hide.
a deepness,
longing endlessness,
a depth of madness,
a darkness,
from much sadness,
a lightness,
innamorato brightness.
