A Sea Pray

Lofty green-stained cliffs
rising up from the cold sea
Wind-swept and Foggy
A bonny girl calls the sea
Bring a man full of rare moss

the vibrant colours of the sky
several moods from sunrise to sunset

we watch the way clouds move
the coming of a storm brings excitement

you do not find joy in the sky
seeing no beauty through cataract eyes

alive, yet erased
cloth denies identity
no voices allowed

an education
imagination and dreams
the Taliban takes

when nothing remains
strong women stand tall with a
quiver and arrows

a forgotten death
for the tyranny of this
land must be undone

Rows of dream houses
Here, today looks the same as
simple yesterday

Inside the four walls
The ruse of our lives is clear
as we slowly change

Constant internet
Increasingly filtered snacks
armchair protesting

wandering in the snow
We know the ways of this land
Whispers of war come
We will not bend the knee to
men who possess no honour

Dreams upon a snow pillow
The forest murmurs from afar
My ocean meets the cliffs

the scent of roses
walking towards a bus stop
steps upon the ice

dappled with coffee
moving with quiet kindness
sipping a mug soon

boxed in by the cars
She never feared ice before
intense violence

all the books she loved
all the kindness in the world
a cold scentless death

walking by the sea
old now, yet unmissable
a man and a child
to cover my face in shame
She left many lies

You ascended to the stars and watch the way your love lives her life on Earth.

You bestowed the gifts of moonlight for her eyes, shards of sunlight to bronze her skin, and snowflakes to keep her skin dewy.

You continued to adorn her with gifts until she returned to you.

Flawless by design. The very nature of watching herself in the mirror stirs human-like emotions.

Her creator said, “They will never know she is an android. Such is her design. And, this will be their downfall“.
