Between Winter & Spring

I longed for the frost
yet the warmth of Spring arrived
Letting go, shedding

within the words
pieces of you and your emotions
the tempo alters

until the resonance is unmistakable

within tugging words
pieces of me and my emotions
the music is playing

whispers of the trees
with every beat of the drum
gooseflesh on our skin
we dance around the bonfire
with the rhythm of the spirits

The coming of Spring
dreaming of delicious food
Awaiting Peaches
a fusion for the taste buds
Naughty Peach thoughts are blooming

They pierce the silence
with the drums, they play
around the burning pyre

They sing a song to
give thanks to the forest
as the embers move

The drums, the song,
and the embers turning
into dancing fireflies

They create melodies
to move the forest
and awaken the spirits

A frost-filled whisper
the clear sky and the moonlight
Come and dance with me

happiness expectations in the office
saying hello like your life depends on it
contemplating another coffee by 9:05 am

co-workers fuel your addiction
people calling before 1 pm is sacrilege
what the feck am I doing?

Overwhelmed,
you attack the biscuits
and cry at your desk.

little eccentric plant
thrives in winter snow
loving the cold

Lava meets the sea
watching the way nature moves
Feeling flesh and blood
from the distance, Aloha
hiding behind the bushes

Salmon are rushing
a frenzie of paws and tails
The bear knows the taste
confused animosity
The salmon misses her paw
