working away
no time for play
living in yesterday
hoping for a new day
it’s the same day
living this way
Between
Between 12:57 pm and 1:00 pm,
that is when free thoughts flow.
A few minutes of poetry thoughts,
unencumbered by duty and work.
Unnoticed rebellion from within,
words of resistance form loudly.
Burning away the expectation haze,
finishing a poem and filing it away.
Carrying the poem home,
sharing the poem alone.
Abandoned Houses
Broken houses
the sea crashing into the rocks
Dark sea spray
Below, quiet sea business
twilight faded from hours passed
The deep darkness arrives
Lonely empty houses
unlived and unloved since the war
The sea and the rocks
whispers of a place now a non-place
Hidden in darkness
the moon betrays my form
No longer hidden
The houses long for me to stay
Wistful Thorns
Sunlight dancing on the river
What mattered once has gone
Your face comes to me often
No tears for the loss of love
With you on a delightful journey
Alone, the struggle is exhausting
Sliding calmly into the river
Whatever mattered, I don’t care
The Livid Sky
You stand under a livid sky,
singing soft words to your broken heart,
and feeling the livid bruises.
In the Gulag, no freedom to be anyone,
and the living body dies.
Pictures of what once was,
memories of what might have been;
I hope they learn from our sorrow.
Marigold Field
Orange, sun, Orange
Yellow, sun, Yellow, orange
Movement Rows a Field
Maybe
Maybe a raindrop will fall from the sky,
Maybe you’ll turn into an old butterfly.
Maybe the cat will turn into a prince,
Maybe the pie is really made of mince.
Maybe a flower will bloom in the night,
Maybe the moon will illuminate tonight.
Maybe
Maybe
Maybe
Maybe
A Silver Daydream
Drifting to sleep
falling away from the couch
from ordinary to extraordinary
transformed into a Queen
Adorn with snow metal
encased within warm finery
marching forward with a few
a diamond-adorned sword
Rumours of war and rage
a river runs red in the south
all my fears appear large
now is not the time for cowards
We ride towards an unknown fate
with honour and strength, our guides
Citrus Party
Afternoon party
Orange and Lemon Arbour
Flowing happiness
Squeezing, shooting orange juice
Expressions full of lemon
A Sea Salt Afternoon
Inhibitions forgotten
Floating in the saltwater
A seagull dives close
Washed up on the sand
rolling around like a whale
white skin fluorescent
Lifting a lazy leg to wave
Passersby think you’re odd
Shells and sand all over
You roll back into the sea
the seagull dives for your togs
boobs bobbing just below
