Wavelets move.
I’m home now, she tells the sea.
A wavelet splashes her feet.
Is that your answer, she whispers.
The wavelet doesn’t touch her feet.
Looking to the lunar sky as light touches the sea surface, she asks the sea if it’s the moon.
A wavelet touches her feet.

I will & I do
If you are not there,
I will wait for you with a tea cosy on my head
and
seawater beating through my heart,
for you wouldn’t want me any other way,
and
I do not want to be any other way.
Sea Inspiration
Sitting on the sand,
soaking up the sea;
Salty inspiration.
Perspicacity
Shore gazing,
the cold sea,
a look, a smile, a nod.
Gone within a gaze,
I mistook charm,
wit, and intelligence
for perspicacity.
Swimming in the sea,
I didn’t enter,
you teased me with
the depths.
Pulled under, gone.
Missing, then
washed up on a beach,
you didn’t need
to impress me.
Sorrow is a single bed,
alone with my
thoughts about you and
erased dreams.
Stormy Sea Longing
Insufferable
Longing for the stormy sea
Green hills surround me
Sea-Swept Soul
Saltwater soaked skin
Sand and shells in between my toes
Sea-swept hair lightened by the sun
Saltwater soaked soul
Cool Against the Skin
A faint whisper
from a long summer.
A dark blanket
from a cold winter.
By the sea,
By the hills,
By both, we
feel cool
against
the skin.
Sisters
When we were young,
when you and I, you and me, we used to listen to the sea.
Now we live so far away,
in different places; foreign places so far away from where we used to listen to the sea.
Without knowing why,
at a random time of the day,
you and I, you and me, we will listen from afar to the sea.
Her Sea
Caught off guard.
She moves like the waves of the ocean,
diaphanous fabric flowing like water.
A look my way.
She beckons me to swim in her ocean
and ride the waves of her wild sea.
Consumed by sea fabric.
A Sea Composition
You cast a spell on the crowd
with the rhythm of your metre.
Your words danced around the hall,
whooshed into their ears like waves,
galloped along wildly in their minds.
You spoke the last few words,
no more than a sea whisper.
