Crown of Rose and Thorns adorn
her head for royalty is in her blood
She prepares for her wedding day
to the king of the woodland realms
Weaving a mysterious magic
within her cloth and bosom
waiting for the woodland call
to take her from this place

Oh, cake!
You are my kryptonite;
weakening my steady resolve.
I don’t dream of Summer,
I only dream of our Winter.
The wild wind of Winter moves,
The Wild moves into our bones.
You laugh at the trees and snow,
I laugh at the playful snow on my skin.
In this eccentric Winter, we laugh on,
Forgetting Spring will come too soon.
white tie
dinner and jazz
restrained revelry
amber lights play
While you slept
in dreams,
I longed for your touch.
stay a while
sit with me
we’ll watch the sea
grey moves in to darken the sky
the atmosphere changes inside
rain moves on the house windows
meandering water stops my mind
fresh rain smells calm a hot heart
rain dots the wooden window sills
standing and forgetting the sorrow
grasping the raindrops falling soft
You had a Winter Solstice, and I had a Summer Solstice. Yet the moon is the same for both of us.
Looking up, I hold a candle to the sky and thank nature for you. I wonder what you’ll do?
We’ll come together soon to celebrate the light, as we wish for beautiful days together again.

A tidy window
Surrounded by ivy green
Looking to outside
Winter holds you frozen within her frosty grasp,
for she’s waited so long for jealous Autumn to go.
Your heart beats slow in her cold wild arms,
yet she knows Autumn’s fate will be her own.
The snow falls on your hair and face to warm you,
as Winter dances her wild cold dance around you.
You love the way the snow makes your body feel,
for your heart is ice and your veins beat glacial water.
Sleep takes you into Winter’s slender arms again,
yet when you wake, the sun shines down on you.
In the ice, you lay as your heart starts to melt,
then as you look left, and then right, you see.
You slept within the pines last night, to your dismay,
only to find you did sleep between the Snowdrops.
The Snowdrops remind your heart that love is well,
as the shoots rise from the ice to find the sun.
