remnants of plunger coffee
the washing and dryer blues
empty pegs on the clothesline
the moments of reflection
a longing for the rain clouds
this land cries out in the drought
burnt by the sun in winter
a fleeting glimpse of freedom
the sun makes way for the frost
under the full moon
not wanting to say goodbye
on that final day
doing deals with the divine
soul sale for another day
the esteemed image
coat hanger runway models
skin is the new cool
the reality
a vision in a spud sack
thongs flip-pity flap
swimming in the sea
a wrinkly breast on a board
become brine chicken

in the land of boys
I was a wild mountain cat
a taste for rabbits
the loch was my tap
thick forest became a bed
then her sea call came
o’er the green mountains
small to some, yet large to me
carried by her call

my Selkie longs for a kiss
returning to man
a brown bear dying
uncomfortable knowledge
within those soft eyes
two lifeless lovers
fur paws touching in the snow
for the love of one
movement from below
a whimper to the heavens
meeting my best friend
