From home to work, there was no warming up. Cold from the inside out, yet warm to the touch, something old and wretched continued to burn within the old Druid’s skin.
Hungry and cold, when lunch arrived, she ordered a cheeseburger with extra pickles and then ate it at her desk.
Cherry blossom dream
feeling the flakes of snow fall
back in the office
Cherry blossom dream
feeling the flakes of snow fall

Slumped over the desk,
creeping fatigue lingers,
and haunts poetry days.
Office love.
You wield the mug,
he becomes the coffee.
You sit at your desk. A coffee fragrance clutters the air; clicking keyboards fade away.
You’re with a king having beautiful babies or sitting quietly in a grand garden contemplating the fate of worlds.
Your Reverie gives your eyes a dreamlike quality as you fade away.
your sadness drips
onto the floor to pool
in shadows and soak into
the fabric of the building
once there, it stays
unable to dissipate until
others’ happiness does the same

reside in a building
unable to balance emotions
