Sit with Me

Run Away with me
Dance on a cloud, touch the stars
On the moon, we sit

The Cold Sea

15/06/202211/06/2022 C and K WordsLeave a comment

I feel the winds of the cold sea.
They blow through me, and I feel free.

I feel the waves crash over me.
They move me down, and I can’t see.

I feel the love you have for me.
Your love changed me, so I am free.

I feel the life you lived with me.
Your love lives on just like the sea.

A Candle

14/06/202216/05/2022 C and K WordsLeave a comment

Let’s burn a candle as we read
to feel like we’re in another time.

You brought the chips and dips;
I gather the books, paper, and pens.

Together we sit lost in imagination
as we dream within the candlelight.

I never knew you liked to draw,
and you never knew I adore poetry.

The Portal Door

13/06/202207/06/2022 C and K WordsLeave a comment

You enter through a portal door,
innocuous, different.

A mistake I did make,
for you take the quiet spaces.

You invade every facet of my life;
no room left for my words.

I push back against the deluge,
you won’t listen.

You turn,
I close the portal door.

The Quiet Carriage

12/06/202216/05/2022 C and K WordsLeave a comment

A quiet carriage,
thoughts of being alone.

The tension remains
as the passenger fidgets.

Headphones separate us,
yet there is no escape.

Living in a prison of sorts
wishing for the platform to arrive.

Why must every window be viewed
when it’s so dark outside?

Haiku: Lose

Nothing left to lose,
except for memories of
love and Petrichor.

Hydrangea in Bloom

Spring has come to your heart, yet I sit here in my Winter world wondering what you’re doing with all of those so-called “friends“.

I love you, yet you are like a Hydrangea in bloom. Your love will last from early spring until late Autumn, yet it never sustains the Winter.

Haiku: Humble

Humble soft padding.
Hurt, a wolf in sheep’s clothing;
misunderstood wolf.

Beginnings & Endings

08/06/202216/05/2022 C and K WordsLeave a comment

Waiting for the microwave to finish,
lunch will end soon,
watching the time tick the day away,
dinner will start soon,
wishing for something to start,
hoping for something to end.

You began, then you end,
I begin, then I will end;
we will all begin and end.

Haiku: Quarantine

Our hearts are locked in
quarantine as we learn to
live without our love.
