Driving home from work
The trees have a smoker’s cough
All over the road

Emma

23/08/202319/08/2023 C and K WordsLeave a comment

A paw in the face;
Wake up! Now feed me!

A sweet, funny face
meowing around the house.

A pushy determined head,
demanding a lap for hours.

A cat at home in Winter;
our home sweet home.

We miss Emma so much. She died around the same time one year later. Written on the 23.6.2020.

The Highlands

O’er the hills we’ll walk, my love,
O’er the hills we’ll walk.

I’ll take your hand; you’ll crush my hand,
O’er the hills we’ll walk.

The highlands call to us again
the highlands call to us.

we’ll dance about; you’ll get grumpy and shout,
O’er the hills we’ll walk.

Us

Seas separate us;
many places and spaces
between both of us.
Separated by the sea,
an invisible link, one.

Misty Mornings

20/08/202319/08/2023 C and K WordsLeave a comment

A purring cat
Misty mornings with a chance of sun
Walking in nature
Writing, dreaming, and imagining worlds
Drinking tea
Listening to music
Watching the Winter moon after midnight
Talking to friends
Huggy Hugs
Some cooking
Staying at home with a book and a blanket

Sunset Thoughts

19/08/2023 C and K WordsLeave a comment

An unused window,
head down, bum up,
working the day away.

Working long hours,
paying off a house,
a little piece we own.

We toil for those times,
sitting alone or together;
watching the sunset
pass from colours to
whatever night brings.

Tadpoles

Watching the water
Cool crystal clear water flows
towards downriver
Cupping your hands around them
Watching the Tadpoles dancing

You moved me to think
Yesterday I was consumed
by shiny trinkets
Today I think about things
I question the news, my life

Ode to my Kettle

11/08/2023 C and K WordsLeave a comment

Oh, my divine, sweet love!
Oh, how you burn for me!

Your loveth steams so hot.
Your breath burns my lips.

Oh, my sweet kettle of love.
Oh, my hot teabag activator.

My sweet tea cosy covered.
My lovely kettle of kindness.
