Spring Dance

Bursting flowers
Moving in waves across the field
Colours of blossoming spring dance
Sunshine brighter than the light

working diligently
a call to meet and discuss matters
cheerfully walking

feeling older now
a lamb to the slaughter on repeat
behaving myself

his critical words
used within sentences to distract
convoluted thoughts

a civil ambush
performance an excuse for money
haunted now

Touching the coffee table
Vacuuming the floor
Walking to the laundry
Sitting on the lounge

The memories of you
a mist within the house
The thoughts of you
a ghost kept by my side

The absence of your paws
a sadness in the shape of tears
Sleeping between us in bed
a dream of you here and there

Touching a photograph of you
wishing Emma all our love
The ghost of you, please linger
until we both find you again

Tea leaves, a teacup
hypnotised by the swirling
A tea leave dreaming

Intrusive thoughts
devouring the present
haunting the past

A feeling takes hold
jump in the car and leave
Go on an adventure

Too many adult problems
money on the mind
Irresponsibility shaming

Drive away in the darkness
quiet night roads
To find your way to the sea

a necessity
vocabulary becomes
limited necessity
unfamiliar words become
a punishable thought crime

I longed for the frost
yet the warmth of Spring arrived
Letting go, shedding

within the words
pieces of you and your emotions
the tempo alters

until the resonance is unmistakable

within tugging words
pieces of me and my emotions
the music is playing

whispers of the trees
with every beat of the drum
gooseflesh on our skin
we dance around the bonfire
with the rhythm of the spirits

The coming of Spring
dreaming of delicious food
Awaiting Peaches
a fusion for the taste buds
Naughty Peach thoughts are blooming
